Make Like a Leaf and Fall

The temperature's gradually cooling down, finally, and the piling holidays have begun. Halloween has come and gone, now is when Christmas and other holiday shopping is done before the last minute holiday rush. Thanksgiving just hides on in there awaiting for the day before when everyone goes to the grocery store for some turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, green bean caserole, and other classic holiday sides.
Then the black Friday comes, bargains come for more shopping, and those smart enough to not shop and not work in retail, begin the adventure to the attic for Christmas trees and twinkle lights, and setting it up outside and in. The Nutcracker Ballet begins and society begins hearing songs like "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" or "Blue Christmas" playing in their heads over and over. A chill is in the air, the times to wear scarves and boots, and carrying hot chocolate to school and work.
Many, like me, will attempt to resist and slow down time. Trying to finish every little "to-do" list possible. One for school now, one for school in January, one for cleaning, one for new habits to obtain, one for old habits to lose, one for things to buy, one for things needed, one for things to want, one for anything...Terrified of the new yet excited at the same time, I'll attempt to prepare for anything and everything that will come my way within the coming six months, I'll try to stop time and relish every moment of my coming old life to have memories in my future new one.
Instead of resisting all change maybe it's time for us to make like a leaf and fall...
