The Not so Distant Past

In the past few weeks...life's been crazy. Finals for two weeks...yeah, not much success in most of those, sadly. Thursday morning; I got up early, took my math final, and began the drive from Rexburg to Provo with my awesome boyfriend...and his friend... Between texts from my mom, sleeping a little, and some snacks, time went by faster than I expected.

Now, the reason he was going to Utah with his friend was because Grant had been scouted to open for a pro fight. We found the gym where Grant needed to get registered and weighed in, and took my suitcase and stuff to my sister's apartment by the BYU stadium. We then, looped back to the Throwdown gym to actually weigh in and register Grant. I love him, but hey...I waited for him during his fight stuff for about 2 hours...at the gym that day only...the next day is a whole different story. But that's saved for later... His brother took us to some Chinese buffet where neither me nor Grant could eat much...and what I did eat made me sick.

The next day, the day of Grant's fight I waited for about four hours just to see him fight then wait another two hours til he actually came back to sit and watch the pro fights with me. In the fight with a couple kicks to the head Grant had a severe concussion, a few black eyes, a swollen nose, and a fat lip. The Doc told us Grant couldn't sleep longer than in hour increments. Since he didn't have family to wake him up every hour, I stayed with him all night, nudging him every thirty minutes or so.

It's been a week since then, and Grant is currently at drill for the army. Within the week I've done a whole lot of nothing...and it's been wonderful. Staying in bed til three, going out exploring... One of the days I went exploring and just kept walking. I didn't realize til hours later that I had no idea where I was, my phone was dying, and was about to pass out due to the fact I hadn't eaten since my bowl of cereal that morning. However, I too some pictures that really didn't turn out very well...

Never before did I think I looked at all like my little brother...this picture changed my mind. I was outside and the view was where I had been almost exactly 6 months earlier.

* * *

Okay, so I typed that a few weeks ago but I needed to upload pictures and stuff, so, let's recap. First week of school was okay, my theatre class is going to KILL me this semester and is in cahoots with my history class. I've been taking pictures again, and I'm hired to cover my first engagement/wedding. I'm so nervous and have no idea what to do. I asked a photographer if she had any tips for me and she said all I can do is practice. Let's hope that works out...
